Flower Power 🙂

I woke up feeling super excited about what I was going to post today for you all because flower power is my treasured oomph for summer. Flowers are a symbol of beauty. Women irrespective of age or origin are enraptured by their very presence. They make us feel feminine and beautiful.

Floral prints originated in the East i.e in China in the 12th century. They then travelled to the west from the Orient and Asian countries. In the middle ages, the traders from the East brought beautiful silks printed with exotic flower designs to Europe and sold them at very high prices, which only the rich could afford at that time. It was undoubtedly a symbol of royalty to adorn them.

But in the 21st century we are fortunate to have access to hundreds of designs and colours. Floral prints have taken over the global fashion scene prodigally. To name more than a few brands like D&G, Gucci, Libertine, Ports, Balenciaga, Carolina Herrera, Lanvin, Alberta Ferrati etc. have revived the lush of “Flower power”.

I mentioned in my previous blog that this summer is all about colour 🙂 and we all are keen as mustard, to experiment with it all.  Brands like Zara never lag behind to provide us with affordable fashion options as well. So here is my look for this week – It is chic, vibrant, eye-catching, stimulating and more…….The mix of warm colours like RED, YELLOW AND ORANGE evoke warmth and energy. It emits cheerfulness, emotion, passion, focus and comfort.

My outfit is fun on the top and subtle at the bottom with a hint of orange on my feet. I chose to wear a “White Linen” high waisted trouser with it. White is soothing and it is bringing a beautiful balance with the colours on my cotton silk flowery shirt. Its almost adding composure to my being. Flower Power - Rupika Chopra

I am wearing a pair of orange heels to keep the hues going for a fine equilibrium. This outfit can be worn to a lunch or a sundowner. You can also wear a high waisted white, yellow or even a black short or a long flowy skirt with this knotted shirt. That will look cool at a beach party too.

So go add some power with those pretty flowers 🙂 And don’t forget to smell good…. girl!!!

An attire can create a spell, if they are perfectly put together. As a child, I would team up outfits innovatively and look beyond the ordinary. From being a fashion connoisseur, and a model, I ventured into the equity world and gained insights into business. I am also a trained actor and have acted in plays and short films. Being a spiritual seeker - I am also into healing. This has changed my vibe as a human being and has made me understand the power of a human mind and energy. Am absolutely grateful for that!! Spirituality has always fascinated me......the path has only lead me to discover the divinity within and strive to be the best version of myself. Chic Styling has been a part of my personality.....My ultimate fashion icons have been Cindy Crawford, Latetia Casta, Gisele Bundchen, Claudia Schiffer, Monica Bellucci. Style is just never about brands alone, but how you bring out the best, by embracing yourself, keeping fit and understanding your body and styling it with a fabulous ensemble of fabric and accessories. My love for fitness has always inspired me to push limits to achieve higher goals. I believe that one's physical, emotional and spiritual self should be aligned to bring a balance in life and manifest the best for self and others. So Love your mind, body and soul.....It is a way to be aligned with the universe!!!
