“High and Waisted”

High Waisted Tapered Pants - Rupika Chopra

The Super High Waisted Tapered Pants 🙂

Who wears the pants in the House ……..Yeah…we do!!!

Summer is not yet over guys …….and till we can flash those abs without feeling the chill ….yeah… we will flaunt it, because we have it !!Oh my!! I still remember looking at Claudia Schiffer’s pictures in the high waisted pants …..Simply breath taking!!!                      I remember I got mine tailored in school just the same way and I did not feel any less wearing them to my school carnival. 🙂

From a time, when it was a big deal for women to wear pants in 1940’s …..(when women were striving for equal rights with men) – To now in the Millennial age – women have adorned pants from High, Mid to Low waist, boasting different cuts…..and styles. Pants actually paved their way through the bloomers. In 1851 a bloomer craze took over among women and they wore it under their dresses pushing boundaries with men. During the World War 1, when men went to  war, the women took their roles and wore their pants to work comfortably in the factories.

It was in the 1920 ‘s when Coco Chanel stole her lovers riding trousers and wittily designed women’s pants for the purpose of riding. The famous Hollywood beauties Katherine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich wore trousers and also photographed in a man’s Tuxedo…..which gave freedom to women to wear pants without being looked down upon in society.

High waisted pants became a “must have” in 1970’s and the 80’s. By then the High Waisted Denims became super popular. Owning a pair was a must for every girl!!  Ask any lady about their closet favourite at that time…and they will surely mention about this versatile piece from their closet.

In 1990’s ofcourse the low rise waist took over and almost replaced the “high waisted fever ” for a while. But it happily found its way back in the fashion scene, taking over catwalks for all seasons. From Spring to Winter ……there are amazing styles displayed across the globe. I love the fact that fashion storyline has become so eclectic and similar across the world, thanks to globalisation undoubtedly.

These Super High Waisted Tapered Pants are comfortable and cool to hang in anywhere. You can even wear them to work with a tucked in shirt or a sweet white top. They surely look elegant and accentuate your waist beautifully.

My white knotted shirt and flats ooze a relaxed vibe. I chose my Hat as the best accessory with this look and added some colour with my sun glasses.  The detailing on the trousers with crochet flowers is the most attractive part of my Kecks.
